ABC NEWS ANNOUNCES COMPREHENSIVE NEWS AGREEMENT WITH TURKEY BASED TV 6 NEWS
ABC News, headquartered in New York City, and TV 6 News, based in Istanbul, Turkey, have completed a comprehensive news agreement that will provide TV 6 News with access to ABC News content through NewsOne, the affiliate news service of ABC News. The agreement was signed by David Westin, President of ABC News and Mehmet Kurt, President of TV 6 News.
As a part of this agreement TV 6 News will provide ABC News with video and editorial information related to Turkey and the surrounding region. Uniquely positioned, TV 6 News has an extensive satellite footprint extending to Greece, Cyprus, Georgia, Russia, Bulgaria, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan Ukraine as well as other parts of the region and broadcasts in Turkish, English, Russian and Arabic.
TV 6 News will have access to ABC News video and coverage from The White House, Pentagon, State Department, Congress and coverage of the federal government. In addition, through NewsOne, TV 6 News will have access to state and regional news across the United States including access to NewsOne facilities for live coverage, customized interviews with ABC News correspondents and outside experts as well as video access to live breaking news events.

TV 6 covered the recent Haiti earthquake in cooperation with ABC News. Other reports aired by TV 6 have included coverage of the Turkish Prime Minister’s meeting with President Obama. ABC News international coverage director Chuck Lustig has been interviewed regarding Afghanistan and Iraq issues and ABC News Polling Director Gary Langer provided insight on global opinions on the Afghanistan situation. ABC News Chief Foreign Correspondent Jim Sciutto in London, Political Director David Chalian in Washington and Business Editor Dan Arnall in New York have all been interviewed by TV 6.
