The anti-whaling organization said the Yushin Maru 3 intentionally rammed into the Bob Barker, creating a 3-foot long and 4-inch deep gash on the side of the ship just above the waterline.
the organization said in a statement that the Yushin Maru 3 intentionally had rammed the Sea Shepherd ship Bob Barker, penetrating it´s hull and endangering the lives of it´s crew.
Video footage provided by Sea Shepherd showed two vessels briefly colliding at sea.
The organisation said the incident occurred while the Bob Barker was blocking the slipway of the Nisshin Maru 3, the Japanese whaling fleet´s factory ship.
None of the crew were injured and the Bob Barker continued hindering the Yushin Maru 3´s slipway, effectively disrupting "illegal" whaling operations
This is the second such incident in as many months.
