He said Russia simply confirmed support for the proposal brokered by the I-A-E-A.
It calls for Iran to send most of its low enriched uranium abroad.

Washington and its allies fear Iran wants to acquire nuclear weapons,

They´re  pressing for new U-N sanctions on Iran.

Originally, Iran accepted the plan to send 75-percent of its low-enriched uranium to Russia and France,to be converted into fuel for a medical-research reactor in Tehran.

For the west, the point of  the plan was to reduce Iran´s unranium below the level needed for a bomb.

But later, Iran said it wanted fresh fuel for the Tehran reactor BEFORE it would ship its uranium abroad.
