Turkey's FM in contacts over Iran
Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu met with U-S Undersecretary of State for Political Affairs William Burns, as he continues efforts to help solve the nuclear dispute between IRAN and the West.

Davutoglu is just back from Tehran, where he held talks with Iranian Foreign Minsiter Manuchehri Motaki and Iranian President Mohmoud Ahmadenijad.  

A spokesman for the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs says Davutoglu informed Burns about the developments during his visit to Iran.

Burak Ozugergin says Davutoglu told Burns he got the impression that Iran is willing to maintain negotiations with the west over its nuclear program.

Davutoglu asked the U-S to insist on finding a solution to the dispute through diplomatic channels."  

Ozugergin said Turkey aims to contribute to regional peace and stability, by helping the parties to understand the attitudes of each other.

He said Turkey will continue to work to find, and recommend, possible consensus points for the parties.

Meanwhile, Davutoglu held more telephone talks with Iranian Foreign Minister Motaki, after his talks with U-S Secretary of State Hillary Clinton,

Officials say they exchanged information about  all the developments in the process.
