Speaking in New York, Kavaf said Snowdrops is not just a project for its sponsor, Turkcell.
It is also an education project for all of Turkey.
At the United Nations in New York, Kavaf attended a panel discussion titled "Snowdrops: A Success Story from Turkey."
The session was lead by Turkcell´s Deputy C-E-O Koray Ozturkler.
It drew top international figures in EDUCATION, including the U-N Secretary General´s Special Adviser on Gender issues, Rachel Mayanja, and Turkey´s Permanent Representative to the U-N, Ertugrul Apakan.
Speaking to the pane,l Kavaf said the Snowdrops project provids scholarships to up to 10-thousand girls every year in Turkey.
She said, so far, a total of 20-thousand Turkish girls have been helped in their education thanks to this project.
Kavaf said a modern and high-quality education is the guarantee of powerful Turkey in the future.
She said, Turkey´s eduction goal is to rise schooling rate to one hundred percent for girls and boys by 2013.
Kavaf said nearly 9-thousand students have graduated from high school with help from the Snowdrops projects... and of those nearly 3-thousand have entered universities,
Since the year 2000, Snowdrops participants have won 4 international awards, and 12 Turkish awards.
